Dr. Vivek Mundada

Dr. Vivek Mundada, DCH (India), DCH (UK), MRCPCH, FRCPCH, CCT (UK) is a British Board-certified consultant pediatric neurologist who has a subspecialty interest in pediatric neurodisability. He has completed his sub-specialty training in this field in the UK which was recognized by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. He was trained and has worked in reputed hospitals like Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge in the UK.

He has worked as a consultant pediatric neurologist in Royal London Hospital, London which is a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital in east London. He has established the acquired brain injury unit in this hospital. His work was recognized by the House of Lords where he was honored and was invited to give a talk on his experience. He moved to UAE in 2018 and has been working in Medcare Women and Children Hospital and Aster Hospitals in Dubai. With his initiative, two of the Spinal Muscular Atrophy children received gene therapy for the first time in the UAE in 2020.

Apart from the complex pediatric epilepsies and neurodevelopmental disorders, his areas of special interest lie in childhood headaches’ and pediatric movement disorder. He serves as a faculty for the British Paediatric Neurology Association run international courses- ‘Paediatric Epilepsy Training (iPET)’ and ‘Childhood Hea dache Training (CHaT)’.

In the areas of his interest, he has conducted and led various research projects which have been presented on various international platforms and published in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently involved in few multicentre projects in the UK and India.
