Consultant – Pediatric & Adult Rehabilitation Medicine
Dr. Nadia Alwasiah is an experienced Consultant in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a strong academic and clinical background. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and is dual board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine.
Training & Experience
Dr. Nadia completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She then pursued a highly competitive fellowship in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
She has worked extensively with both adults and children across inpatient and outpatient settings—treating individuals with complex rehabilitation needs, including those recovering from brain or spinal cord injuries, congenital physical challenges, and neuromuscular conditions. Her approach emphasizes holistic care tailored to each patient’s unique journey.
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Nadia provides comprehensive evaluation and management for a range of conditions including:
- Cerebral palsy and childhood-onset motor disorders
- Stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Muscular dystrophy and neuromuscular disorders
- Congenital and acquired physical impairments
- Sports-related injuries in children and adolescents
She is also proficient in advanced rehabilitation procedures such as:
- Joint and trigger point injections
- Botulinum toxin (Botox) for spasticity and salivary control
- Ultrasound- or electrically guided injections
- Motor phenol nerve blocks
- Baclofen pump management
- Orthotic and prosthetic recommendations
